Teriihauroa Luciani (hE/him),

Teriihauroa Luciani, a highly experienced and dedicated activist from French Polynesia, has officially joined ILGA Oceania as Executive Officer. With over 27 years of experience advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, Teriii is a true champion of equality. He began his journey in 1997 as a member of the Homosphere association in New Caledonia, and has since gone on to become the president of the LGBTQ+ organization Cousins Cousines de Tahiti, as well as the president of the local AIDS organization Agir contre le SIDA. His impressive leadership skills have also earned him the position of Vice President of the regional organization Alliance LGBT+ Franco Océanienne, and a board member of ÉGIDES (International Francophone Alliance for Equality and Diversities). Terii was also a Leader for the International Indigenous Working Group on HIV & AIDS (IIWGHA), demonstrating his unwavering commitment to HIV prevention activities through various LGBTQ+ and AIDS groups in which he holds posts. In October 2023, Terii was appointed for a 4-year mandate to occupy the new seat for LGBTQ representation in the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC) in French Polynesia.

Kris Prasad (he/they)

Kris Prasad is an Indo-Fijian and a fifth-generation descendant of Girmitiyas. He is a fierce activist, disruptor, community organiser and facilitator with over 14 years of experience in grassroots advocacy for democracy, human rights and social justice in Fiji. Kris worked for the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement for several years before moving to the UK to pursue a Master of Arts- Sexual Dissidence program at the University of Sussex as a Chevening Scholar. Kris has worked for various international development projects for the last two years as a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion specialist. Currently, Kris is coordinating the 3rd Pacific Human Rights Conference on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression and Sex Characteristics due to be held in Nadi in April 2024. In his free time, Kris is an active community leader. He is the President of the Leadership Fiji Alumni, the Chair of the Board for Wainibokasi Hospital and an organiser and facilitator for Chai and Chat, a monthly social support space for queer Indo-Fijians.
